1 Dead, 2 Injured In Rollover Crash Involving 4 Cars: Aurora Police
The four-car crash happened at the intersection of East New York Street and North Eola Road, police said.

AURORA, IL — One person died and two were injured in a rollover crash on Aurora's far east side July 24, police said.
Aurora police and firefighters responded at 8:40 p.m. to the intersection of East New York Street and North Eola Road to find a crash involving four cars, one of which rolled over.
In the preliminary investigation, officials determined a 2017 gray Dodge Challenger was driving westbound on New York Street when the driver lost control attempting to make a lane change, hitting three cars in the southbound Eola Road lanes, police said. The cars hit were a 2017 white Nissan Rogue, a 2002 silver Toyota Camry and a 2018 red Honda Accord.

The Camry driver, 44-year-old Gerardo Cuatzo, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Cuatzo, of Portland Lane in Aurora, was later pronounced dead, police said.
Two other people were hospitalized for minor injuries.

The Dodge driver, 19-year-old Ailisa Gutierrez, of Daisy Street in Aurora, was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Police said they will provide an update if further charges are filed with the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.
"The loss of life in our community is always tragic," Chief Keith Cross said in a statement. "To the family and friends of Mr. Cuatzo, I would like to extend my deepest condolences. I would like to commend our officers and the Aurora Fire Department for their efforts to save the lives of those involved in this tragedy."
The crash remains under investigation by the Aurora Police Department's traffic division. Officials are asking anyone with information to call 630-256-5330 or email tips@aurora.il.us.
