1 Killed, 1 Critically Injured In North Aurora Crash: Police

A three-car crash Monday morning left one woman dead and one man seriously injured, according to police.

NORTH AURORA, IL — A 49-year-old woman from North Aurora was killed and a 67-year-old man from the village suffered life-threatening injuries in a three-car crash Monday morning, according to police.

A man from Aurora who was driving the third vehicle was not injured, according to a news release from North Aurora Deputy Police Chief Scott Buziecki. The 67-year-old North Aurora man was taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva before being airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, the release states.

Police said the crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. when the woman turned onto Bilter Road and into the path of a pickup driving north on Mitchell Road. No charges or citations have been filed against any of the drivers, and police said there was no indication that drugs or alcohol played any part in the crash, which remains under investigation.
