$3M Bail For Man Accused Of Stabbing, Killing Elgin Man
A 40-year-old Aurora man was charged Monday with first-degree murder and armed robbery after police found a body in an Aurora Township home.
AURORA, IL — A Kane County judge set bail at $3 million Tuesday for an Aurora man accused of killing a man Friday while he was doing renovations on a nearby home.
Carlos Fonseca-Gutierrez, 40, faces two counts of first-degree murder and an armed robbery charge in connection with the of 51-year-old Mario A. Ying, of Elgin.

Kane County deputies allege Fonseca-Gutierrez walked from his home in the 1700 block of Indian Avenue to a home under renovation in the 1500 block of Solfisburg Avenue in Aurora Township. Fonseca-Gutierrez stabbed Ying multiple times, killing him, police allege.

A resident called 911 around 9:20 a.m. Saturday to report there may have been a body inside the Aurora Township home, police said. After police found Ying's body inside the home, a witness told Kane County deputies about Fonseca-Gutierrez, who lived nearby.
The Aurora Township home where Ying’s body was found is owned by Fonseca-Gutierrez’s landlord, and Sheriff Ron Hain said deputies are investigating that connection.
