Apparent Murder-Suicide Under Investigation In Aurora: Police

Two people died in an apparent murder-suicide in the 1600 block of McClure Road, according to Aurora police.

AURORA, IL — A man and a woman died in an apparent murder-suicide in Aurora, police said.

Aurora police said they were called to an apartment in the 1600 block of McClure Road around 4:30 p.m. Monday to do a welfare check after family members of the woman were unable to reach her throughout the day.

A landlord let officers enter an apartment where they found the woman and a man dead from apparent gunshot wounds, police said Monday night in a news release.

A man in the area told officers he heard gunshots around 8:30 p.m. Sunday but did not report them to police, the release states.

The Kane County Coroner's Office is set to conduct autopsies over the next few days, police said.

Police said they believe the deaths were related to a domestic dispute.
