Arrest Made In Chicago Premium Outlets Retail Theft Investigation: APD
A Chicago woman was charged with three felonies and a misdemeanor after police say they went to the mall to dismantle retail theft rings.
AURORA, IL — A Chicago woman is facing felony charges after Aurora police executed a retail theft detail at the Chicago Premium Outlets, officials said.
Working in conjunction with the Illinois Attorney General's Office, police executed a detail at the Aurora mall intending to dismantle retail theft rings, according to a May 10 news release. It was afterward that Christina Sartin, 39, was charged with two felony counts of retail theft, one felony count of aggravated battery and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest, officials said.
Aurora officers said apprehending the woman, of the 5000 block of Lake Shore Drive, "marks a significant step in our ongoing effort to combat organized retail crime in our community."

Aurora police did not provide additional details about the thefts or Sartin's arrest.
"We are committed to safeguarding our local businesses and communities from the detrimental effects of retail theft rings," APD Lieutenant Mike Corrigan said in a statement. "The collaboration between the Aurora PD and the Attorney General's Office underscores our dedication to ensuring the safety and prosperity of our residents."
