Aurora Teen Found With Loaded Gun During Naperville Traffic Stop: PD

The 15-year-old took the loaded semi-automatic handgun from a lockbox at this mother's house without her permission, police said.

AURORA, IL — An Aurora boy, 15, is facing felony charges after he was found driving with a loaded semi-automatic gun, Naperville police said.

The teenager was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor possession of ammunition without a FOID card in connection with the May 5 incident.

Around 3:15 a.m., officials say police pulled over the teen in a Nissan Altima for improper lane usage near the intersection of Iroquois Avenue and Washington Street. While speaking with the teen, officers saw him reach behind the driver's seat, where they spotted a loaded CPX-2 handgun, a news release said.
