Coroner IDs South Elgin Man Killed In Aurora Shooting
The 22-year-old man died Monday after being shot during a reported shootout between two vehicles in Aurora, police said.
AURORA, IL — A South Elgin man died after being shot multiple times during a reported shootout between two vehicles Monday on Aurora’s Far East Side, according to authorities.
Kane County Coroner Rob Russell on Thursday identified the man as 22-year-old Emanuel Martinez.

Officers were called around noon Monday to the 2900 block of Worcester Lane by residents who said they heard gunshots and saw what appeared to be people in two cars shooting at each other, police said.
Aurora police tried to pull over one of the cars, but the driver did not stop until reaching the parking lot of Rush Copley Medical Center, the release states.

Martinez was rushed inside the hospital with gunshot wounds, but he died soon after, according to officials.
