East Aurora High School Students Named 2024 AP Scholars

AURORA, IL — East Aurora High School beat its record for most students to be named AP Scholars in one school year.

In 2024, 103 students were honored with AP Scholar titles for demonstrating outstanding college-level achievement based on their performance on all AP exams taken during their high school career through the spring of 2024. Comparatively, 65 students were designated last year.

The school has doubled the number of AP courses taught as well as the number of students participating since 2018.

Students were placed into one of five categories:

• AP Scholar with Distinction, meaning they receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams
• AP Scholar with Honor, awarded to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams
• AP Scholar, granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams
• AP Capstone Diploma, given to those who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and on four additional AP Exams of their choosing
• AP Seminar and Research Certificate, for students who earned scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research
