AURORA, IL — All students in East Aurora School District 131 are set to start the upcoming school year next month with online classes, according to a report by the Aurora Beacon-News.
The 2020-21 school year will start Aug. 24, but students will not be returning to school until at least Sept. 8, the report states.

Students will have a choice between full-time remote learning and a hybrid model that would see students split their time between the classroom and home.

Under District 131’s hybrid model, students would spend two days each week in the classroom, with other days to be used for remote learning, the report states. According to state guidelines, students will be required to practice social distancing and wear masks while in school facilities.

Students in West Aurora School District 129 can opt for full-time remote learning or a similar hybrid model starting Friday. District 129 students will have until 4 p.m. July 31 to make their selections.
