Electrical Utility Pole Catches Fire: Aurora Police

The fire prompted a road closure that is expected to last until crews replace the utility pole, police said.

AURORA, IL — An electrical utility pole caught fire Thursday on Barrington Drive East, Aurora police said.

The entire of Barrington Drive East is closed between Providence Avenue and Wild Dunes Circle while ComEd crews replace the pole. Aurora police were on the scene of the fire as of 12:40 p.m., according to an alert published on Facebook.

Officers are asking drivers to seek alternate routes until the pole is replaced.
