Free Flu Shot Clinics Coming To Aurora In October
Residents can stop by Phillips Park on Fridays to get a free flu shot amid the coronavirus pandemic.
AURORA, IL — As the coronavirus pandemic drags on into flu season, Aurora residents are being urged to take advantage of the city’s five free flu-shot clinics this month.
VNA Health Care has partnered with the city to offer free flu shots each Friday in October, with vaccinations more important than ever due to the coronavirus.
The drive-thru clinics will be set up in Phillips Park, located at 1000 Ray Moses Dr. Flu shots will be offered to anyone older than 4, according to a news release.

No appointments are necessary, and VNA is accepting all insurance plans. There will be no co-pay or deductible. Vaccinations will be free for those without insurance, the release states.

By offering the free clinics and daily drive-thru clinics at its locations, VNA hopes “that everyone will get their flu shot and protect themselves, their families and vulnerable members of our community,” said Linnea Windel, president and CEO of VNA Health Care.

Public health officials have warned that people could suffer more severe illnesses if they contract the coronavirus and the flu at the same time.
“It is more important than ever to get a flu shot,” said Theresa Knauf, assistant director for public health nursing at the Kane County Health Department. “This season, we are also battling COVID-19. A flu vaccine can help you avoid co-infection with COVID-19 and flu.”

- Oct. 2 — 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Oct. 9 — 12-4 p.m.
- Oct. 16 — 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Oct. 23 — 12-4 p.m.
- Oct. 30 — 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
