House On Aurora's Far South Side Uninhabitable After Fire: FD
All residents were out of the two-story, single-family house and a cat was rescued by a neighbor by the time crews arrived.
AURORA, IL — A single-family house on Aurora's far south side was deemed uninhabitable Tuesday after a fire swept from the attached garage into the rest of the two-story residence, officials said.
A total of 27 firefighters were dispatched to the property in the 2700 block of Squaw Valley Trail after a 911 call came in at 10:23 p.m. to report a fully involved fire with flames showing, according to a news release.

The first engine to arrive deployed a hose line to extinguish the main body of fire that was in the garage. Once the fire was knocked down, the crew. advanced into the house to search for any first-floor extension. The second engine to arrive deployed a second hose line to the second floor to extinguish the fire that spread upward.
Truck companies ensured no victims were in the house and began salvaging personal belongings from further smoke and water damage.

The fire was brought under control within an hour and remains under investigation as of Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
No injuries were reported to residents or firefighters. The five residents who were displaced are staying at another family-owned property, according to the release.
