Man Robs North Aurora Bank After Claiming To Have Gun: Police

Police are asking residents and businesses in the area to provide any surveillance footage of the robbery as they search for a suspect.

NORTH AURORA, IL — A man robbed Old Second National Bank in North Aurora on Thursday afternoon, according to police.

The man — who police describe as being about 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a thin build — implied he had a gun but never displayed one during the robbery, North Aurora police said.

He was wearing a gray hat, black Carhartt-type jacket with a hood, blue jeans, and white and red shoes, police said.

Police are asking residents and businesses in the area of the bank, located at 200 John St., to provide any surveillance video that might show the man getting into or out of a vehicle between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The man was last seen moving north away from the bank, police said.
