Shooting, Car Crash Put Man In Critical Condition: Aurora Police

Aurora police said a man crashed his car Tuesday night after being shot near the 1000 block of Second Avenue.

AURORA, IL — A man crashed his car Tuesday night after being shot on Aurora’s East Side, according to police.

Aurora police said officers went to the 1000 block of Second Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday after residents reported hearing gunshots. Police soon after received reports that a man had crashed his car in that block and appeared to have been shot, according to a news release.

Paramedics from the Aurora Fire Department took the man to a local hospital, where he was in critical condition, as of Tuesday night.

The Aurora Police Department is asking anyone with information about the shooting to call its Investigations Division at 630-256-5500.
