Amita Health To Require Vaccination For Employees

All Amita Health employees will be required to be fully vaccinated by Nov. 12.

LISLE, IL — All Amita Health employees will be required to be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus by Nov. 12, officials with the healthcare system announced Tuesday.

“The health and safety of all is our first and foremost priority and our medical experts agree—vaccination is our best way out of this pandemic,” said Keith Parrott, president and CEO of Amita Health. “These vaccines have proven to be very effective in lessening illness in breakthrough cases. Only by vaccinating will we stop this virus from circulating and mutating.”

Health officials say the rising number of COVID-19 cases locally and across the nation because of the delta variant prompted the decision. Vaccination is "more important than ever" to protect "our patients, our community and one another," according to a Amita Health news release.
