Bail Amounts Increase Significantly

If you get pulled over for a traffic violation in Barrington, be prepared to pay up. 

Bail amounts across the state of Illinois increased significantly this month.  The price for a common traffic ticket is now $120, up from $75.  Drivers who are pulled over for more significant offenses will have to pay more.  Motorists speeding between 20 and 30 miles per hour above the limit will pay a $140 bail, also up from $75.  The bond for drivers caught without a valid license has been bumped up from $1,000 to $1,500. 

If you do get a ticket, most people can usually post bail with a valid driver's license or approved bail bond card.  

To avoid the fees, be mindful of the Illinois Rules of the Road, and always carry your license with you.
