CHICAGO, IL – April 18, 2023 – Hadassah Chicago-North Shore’s “Power of Celebration” luncheon will be held at 12 noon on Sunday, May 7th, announced Hadassah CNS Region President Francine Ephraim. Hadassah CNS leaders Leah Polin (Evanston, IL) and Andrea Ship (Vernon Hills, Ill.) will be honored for their unwavering contributions to Hadassah CNS with entertainment provided by Sidney Friedman, often referred to as “the mind-reader of melody, the Kreskin of the keyboard, the psychic of sound, and an acclaimed musical mentalist.” The live event takes place at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel, 933 Skokie Blvd., Northbrook, IL 60062. Leah Polin has devoted 55 years to Hadassah and is a frequent lecturer on Jewish women, biographies of major Jewish figures, Jewish history, Israel, and current events. She has organized Jewish Heritage Tours around the world and is a frequent traveler to Israel. “Educate a man and you educate an individual; educate a woman, and you inspire a nation,” said Polin. “That is what Hadassah has meant to me.” “

The event will also recognize Andrea Ship with Hadassah CNS’ inaugural Hadassah Leadership Award for her exceptional commitment, positivity, creativity, and outstanding fundraising contributions to the Nehara Hadassah chapter and the entire Hadassah CNS Region.
