How to Post an Event on Patch

Share an upcoming happening with the Barrington community.

One of the features that makes Barrington Patch different is that readers are as much a part of the site as the editors and bloggers.

Basically, we want you to feel comfortable using the site like it's your own, especially when it comes to letting the community know about some cool event or activity you have coming up.

Here are some simple steps for posting to Patch and potentially appearing on the homepage and in the daily email newsletter:

Step-by-step guide:

1. (If you already have a Patch account, skip to step #2) Sign up for a Patch account by clicking on the "Sign Up" link at the top of the homepage and following the instructions. Once your account is confirmed, log in.

2. Click the "Events" tab up near the top of this page.

3. Once you're in the Events section, click "Add an Event."

4. Plug in whatever information you have, including a title, category the date, location, starting and end times and a description. 

5. Click "Upload Photos and Videos" to add whatever files you might have.

6. Click "Post My Event."
