Police Blotter: Mulch at Park Started on Fire

June 4: A resident in the 600 block of South Grove Avenue reported that unknown persons burned a patio pillow from the front patio, sometime during the night.

June 4: Graffiti was reported on a building in the 100 block of South Cook Street.

June 4: A resident in the 100 block of Concord Lane was the victim of a deceptive practice after placing an ad to sell an item on the internet.

June 5: The mulch in Miller Park, located at South Summit Street and East Lincoln Avenue was lit on fire by persons unknown. The fire was extinguished and no playground equipment was damaged.

June 6: Police responded to the report of an unwanted subject at the America’s Best Value Inn, located at 405 West Northwest Highway.

June 6: The gymnasium floor sustained damage at the Lutheran Church of Atonement, 909 East Main Street, when smoke balls were lit and placed on the floor during a dance.

June 8: A resident of the 500 block of North Avenue reported person(s) unknown used their personal information to fraudulently file a tax return with the IRS.

June 9: A report was taken for a male subject looking into windows in the 100 block of West Russell Street.
