20th Annual “Shop With A Cop” Was A Major Success
The Bolingbrook Police Department teamed up with Meijer to host nearly 100 kids for the event.
On December 13, the Bolingbrook Police teamed up with Meijer Store to host the 20th annual “Shop with a Cop” event. The event was held at the Meijer store located at 755 E. Boughton Rd. in Bolingbrook.
The Bolingbrook Police Department hosted nearly 100 children from the Bolingbrook area for this special evening.
Meijer was very instrumental in making sure the event was a major success. Store Director Donald Williams and his assistant, Pam Willis helped to provide free gift wrapping, food and drinks for all of the participants. Bolingbrook Director of Public Safety Director Ken Teppel and Deputy Chief Mike Rompa took the lead with the Bolingbrook Police Department team, their families and Explorer Post #38.

Each participant received a $75 gift card from Meijer, and they were able to purchase store items while being accompanied by a member of the police department.
Each year, this special event helps foster positive relations between the Bolingbrook Police Department and students and families from the area. The program has grown in the last 20 years. The event is one of the highlights for the village of Bolingbrook each holiday season.
