Bolingbrook Soldier Receives Hero's Welcome from Neighbors
Heritage Creek subdivision in Bolingbrook organized a Hero's Welcome Home Party Thursday for Jorge Fonseca, a member of the National Guard who just finished a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Heritage Creek subdivision in Bolingbrook welcomed back one of its residents Thursday night from a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
The Bolingbrook neighborhood organized a Hero's Welcome Home Party in Heritage Creek Park for Ltc. Jorge Fonseca. Fonseca has served in the National Guard and the U.S. Reserves for 22 years.

He lives in the Heritage Creek neighborhood with his wife, Jill. They have two daughters who are in junior high.

Heritage Creek neighbors and Girl and Boy Scouts waved flags and "Welcome Home" signs. Members of the Naperville Central band program welcomed Fonseca with a patriotic medley.
In Afghanistan, Fonseca served as a U.S. Intelligence Officer with the Polish 12th Mechanized Brigade. He assisted with counterinsurgency operations, maintained freedom of movement along a key corridor leading to Kabul and the assisted with the transition of power from U.S. troops to Afghan National Security Forces.
Fonseca also served in Iraq in 2006.
