Bolingbrook to Apply for $1 Million in Flood Aid

Illinois towns can apply for state and federal assistance to cover costs from last month's flooding.

Bolingbrook will apply for nearly $1 million in assistance to cover the cost of flooded homes and damaged public buildings, according to the Chicago Tribune

Both the Bolingbrook dog pound and a treatment plant's electrical system were damaged in the April flooding, and about 75 homes suffered some degree of damage, the Trib reported

"Very few" people were affected by the flooding, according to Bolingbrook Public Works Director Michael Drey. But for those who were affected, the damage was "dominating."
