July Chalk Art Contest Planned At Bolingbrook Preserve

BOLINGBROOK, IL — If you're looking for something to do during July, head out to the Forest Preserve's sidewalk chalk contest at Hidden Lakes Trout Farm in Bolingbrook.

The free, all-ages contest will be held the entire month. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, the preserve said.

Create a chalk masterpiece for all to appreciate. The Tackle Box bait shop will supply the chalk; and once you're done with your masterpiece, you enter the art into the preserve's contest.

Winners will be picked in the following categories: most creative, most nature themed and best artist in the making, the preserve said.

To enter the contest, take a picture with your phone and text it to the entry number found at the concessions building. Make sure to include the artist’s name with your submission. One entry per artist.
