Big Star Staff Rallies for Injured Sous Chef
Those at Wicker Park's Big Star are hosting a fundraiser for their sous chef this weekend. He was recently injured in a hit-and-run accident, according to organizers.

Big Star community members are gathering this weekend in honor of their sous chef, who was injured a few weeks ago in local a hit-and-run accident.
Employees of the Wicker Park restaurant known for its Mexican-style street food are hosting a fundraiser filled with food, drinks, DJs and raffle prizes on Sunday, April 28 at Charleston, 2076 N. Hoyne Ave. in Bucktown.
The event kicks off at 6 p.m. and will conclude around 2 a.m.

Money raised will go toward medical expenses for Big Star sous chef Joseph Gleeson, who was hit by a car April 4 while riding his bicycle on Milwaukee Avenue.
He broke his right wrist and thumb in the incident, Big Star staff said, and spent a night in the hospital.
