Chicago Fire Soccer Stars to Attend Community Health and Wellness Event

Soccer stars promoting health and wellness are coming your way! Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center (PSMEMC) is sponsoring a community health and wellness event from 3 to 6 p.m. on September 10 at the Saint Mary Campus (Division and Oakley), Chicago.

The medical center is partnering with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, Novo Nordisk (health care company with 90 years of experience in diabetes care), Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and the American Diabetes Association to host this event for the community.

Join us for free health screenings – including blood pressure, body-mass index, mini-foot screenings and eye screenings – and health information.

Chicago Fire Soccer Club Midfielders Benji Joya and Grant Ward will be on hand to visit with attendees. There will be a spin-the-wheel raffle for tickets to an upcoming Chicago Fire match (September 13 against Toronto FC), 50 soccer balls, jump ropes, back-to-school giveaways and more.

The Fire is a premier franchise of Major League Soccer (MLS). The Fire entered its 17th season in 2014 and plays at its home venue, Toyota Park, a world-class soccer stadium in Bridgeview.
