Gaslight Says Goodbye But 'Not Forever,' Owners Stress

Fans of a popular Lincoln Park bar will need to find another hangout for a while, sources say.

Starting this weekend, those who consider popular Lincoln Park bar, Gaslight, to be their happy place will have to find a way to fill the void—at least until 2014.

The cozy neighborhood spot at 2426 N. Racine Ave. will be closing its doors Saturday to make way for Trellis, a "wine-focused bar with an approachable and creative menu featuring locally grown ingredients," representatives said.

They assure fans not to worry because "it's not forever" and that they hope to find another Lincoln Park home for Gaslight by early 2014.

Trellis will open in November and feature a wood-burning oven, steaks, seafood, pasta, flatbread and craft beer.
