Get a Divvy, Get a Date? Bikeshare Hooks Up with Dating Site

North Side residents can meet their match on two wheels with a partnership between the city's new bikeshare program and a dating start-up.

First dates now come with a free ride. 

Chicago's latest power couple is a match-up between the new Divvy bikeshare program and a blind dating website. 

Project Fix-up arranges themed date nights for men and women looking to meet that special someone.

And as of Monday, singles can speed up the process by renting a Divvy bike and heading to an activity. 

It's the perfect blind date set-up, Project Fix-up notes on its website; "If it doesn't work out, you can always make a quick escape."

Divvy is donating the 24-hour codes, saving peddling lovers $7 a ride. Biking beaus and beauties will still have to pay Project Fixup's $15 fee. 

The dating company's CEO Sarah Press told Grid Chicago she expects more than 100 out of the company's 2,500 users to explore the option, which runs through Sept. 15.
