HT BBK captures CPC 24-25 bbk title; Lady Tigers dispatch OLT.

Tigers defeat Northtown Charter 57-54 on the road -- capture 1st title since 2009; Ladies top OLT -- on SENIOR NIGHT.

HT BBK Captures CPC 24-25 league title;

defeats Northtown 57-54 on the road;
Lady Tigers dispatch Our Lady of Tepeyac at home -- Senior Night from 02.05.25

The HT boys varsity team played a TENSE battle at Northtown Charter on Wednesday night (02.05.2025), with the visiting Tigers prevailing 57-54 enroute to clinching the 24-25 CPC conference title.
This marked the first basketball championship for HT since 2009 -- a regional title.
With the win, the team improved their overall record to 19-7 and completed their league schedule at a 6-1 mark.
Both teams battled each other throughout the 32-minutes of play, with the Tigers leading by no more than eight points at any moment, and the host Pumas' constantly battling back, to lead by no more than three.
Northtown gained their last lead of the contest at 54-51 with 1:11 to play in the game.
HT countered with a quick basket on their next possession to cut the score to 54-53 Pumas.
Then with 11.7 seconds to play, and with HT leading 55-54, HT's Jordyn Pate was fouled and sank two free throws to make it 57-54 Tigers.
Northtown had one more chance to tie.
After the Pumas final time out -- a Puma three point attempt went off the rim and a short follow by another Puma teammate misfired -- HT rebounded and prevailed at the buzzer.
Holy Trinity featured Drayton Willams as their leading scorer with 14 points. Pate, who sank the clinching charity throws had 13, while Deon Glenn added. 10. Other HT scorers included: Elder Donaldson (7); Carlton Gardner (6), Joshua Shelton (3) and Aiden Upchurch (2) completed the scoring.
HT stats: Fg%: 23-50 46%; 3Fg% 3-4 75%; Ft% 10-19 53%.

Lady Tigers over Our Lady of Tepeyac -- SENIOR NIGHT!
Back in the Jungle -- it was SENIOR NIGHTS for the Holy Trinity Girls basketball squad, and not to be outdone, the Ladies showed their "roundball prowess" topping visiting Our Lady of Tepeyac 38-3 in Chicago Prep league action.
HT's Diamond Young led all scorers with 22 points on the night.
Teammates Nayannah Mahone and Jayla Beverly each added four points to the mix.
The Tigers improved to 10-4 overall and are now 6-3 in conference play.
