Machete-Wielding Man Cuts Woman in Logan Square
Investigators are asking residents for help finding the suspect, who they say inflicted serious injuries upon his victim.

Chicago police are warning residents to be mindful of their surroundings and interactions with strangers after a woman was attacked with a machete early Sunday in Logan Square.
The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. in the 1600 block of North Springfield Avenue, according to the alert. Police say the assailant coaxed the woman into his green minivan and then tried to attack her.
She managed to escape the van but the man chased after her wielding a "machete-type knife," police said. He cut her on her head and body, causing serious injuries. He then returned to his vehicle and drove away.

Police warned Monday that the man may be targeting women who, "engage in high-risk activity."
The suspect is believed to be between his late 30s and early 50s in age. He is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and has black hair and a mustache. He was dressed in a patterned white T-shirt and black and white shorts.
