New Restaurant Takito Donates $5,000 to Wicker Park Charity
The elevated taco joined elevated its good nature, donating to 826CHI, a local tutoring nonprofit.
A new restaurant introduced itself to the neighborhood by donating $5,000 to a local charity. Takito Kitchen, a Mexican-inspired restaurant, opened in March at 2013 W. Division St.
Before opening, Takito held two family and friends dinners. The practice dinners are typical for a new restaurant, but Takito put a twist on their dry run.
Instead of charging for dishes, the restaurant asked each guest to donate $30 to 826CHI. Two days and four tastings earned the charity about $5,000.
