Nike Training Club Comes to Armitage
A new Nike facility that includes a retail space and women-focused fitness center is officially open for business in Lincoln Park. It took over a space occupied until this past November by a familiar clothing chain.
Nike is now open in a nearby Lincoln Park space once occupied by an international clothing store.
United Colors of Benetton closed up shop in November at 833 W. Armitage Ave. Despite its global success, the store wasn't resonating with local shoppers, Patch reported at the time.
An NTC decal—short for "Nike Training Club"—is now plastered to the window of the storefront, which officially opened for business Monday afternoon.

" ... The store (offers) a premium assortment of Nike footwear, apparel and accessories and have community-focused class and groups, more so than Niketown on Michigan Avenue," Racked Chicago reports.

A variety of fitness classes will also be hosted there, the publication says. A component of NTC is a ladies-focused fitness studio, according to Nike's website.
Rumors regarding the chain settling in the local space have been circulating since the fall. They all came to fruition this week, beginning when NikeChicago gave an ambiguous Twitter shoutout to the pending opening just after noon on Monday.
"Hey Lincoln Park girls: Something just for you is headed your way today," the Tweet says.
An official grand opening at the store is scheduled for Feb. 7 but it's open each day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
