Recent plumetting temperatures in Chicago did a number on some of the city's buildings, particularly one on the South Side, where firefighters battled a massive blaze this past week.

The ice makes the now vacant structure near 37th Street and Ashland Avenue look a bit foreboding. Photographer Craig Hensel captured similar energy through snapshots of some of the Wicker Park homes along Hoyne Avenue, near where it intersects Schiller Street.
