Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center Hosts 'What's Best for the Breasts'

The event combines health info with games and food at Standard Bar on Oct. 23.

Looking for a fun night out combined with timely information about preventing breast cancer and women’s health? Then grab a friend and dine with the doctors at a free program, “What’s Best for the Breasts,” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on October 23 at Standard Bar and Grill, 1332 N. Milwaukee, Chicago.

Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center (PSMEMC) is hosting this community event during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The evening will feature free appetizers, cash bar, networking opportunities, health information and spin-the-wheel raffle for prizes including gift certificates for Marquin Salon, Chicago and Migdalia’s Caribbean Beauty Spa, Chicago. Women and men are encouraged to attend this event.

A panel of experts will discuss the latest information about breast cancer, genetics, reconstructive surgery, methods to protect health and importance of early detection. A question-and-answer session will follow the program.

PSMEMC physicians on the panel includes: Rabia Bhatti, MD, board-certified in General Surgery; Giovanni Giannotti, MD, board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care; Socorro Milan-Flanigan, MD, Family Medicine; and Korathu Thomas, MD, board-certified in Hematology, Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.

“We have a fabulous evening planned for our guests with great food, a raffle and an opportunity to learn more about breast health,” said Gladys Aguirre, RN, BSN, Manager, Community Education. “We hope women in the community will bring family members and friends to enjoy a relaxing evening out and get advice from our team of experts.”
