Skateboarder in Critical Condition After Hit by Car
A middle-aged man was hit by a car in Wicker Park while he was skateboarding early this morning.

A man is listed in critical condition after a driver hit him while he rode a skateboard in Wicker Park early this morning, according to reports.
The 42-year-old victim was heading southbound around 2 a.m. in the bike lane of the 1700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue when he was struck from behind by a Dodge Neon, according to the Sun-Times Media. The driver fled the scene but was pulled over shortly afterward and taken into custody, according to the report.

"Officers on patrol heard a crash and went to the scene, where they found the victim lying on the ground, News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said."
The victim was being treated at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. He remained in critical condition around noon Friday.
