Smoke Daddy Plans Major Expansion

A Wicker Park favorite will soon have the room to become a lot more popular.

Those clammering to squeeze into an already busy Wicker Park barbecue favorite will soon have a much easier time doing so.

Smoke Daddy, a popular local hotspot, is expanding its facility to accommodate twice as many people, according to a report in the Chicagoist. The restaurant, which has been featured on both on Check Please! and WGN Lunchbreak

is reportedly remaining open during construction.

"But when everything is finished in January, the restaurant will have 120 seats, a huge garage door to open up the front of the restaurant, windows into the smoking room so you can watch the action, and a private party space," the Chicagoist story says.

A brunch menu also comes with the renovation, according to the report.
