Sticky Rice Thai Adds Second Location in Bucktown
Sticky Rice is sticking on the North Side as owners announce a second location in Bucktown, opening in July.

A popular Thai restaurant in Northcenter is expanding its cuisine to Bucktown.
Those who were too far south of Sticky Rice’s delivery can now get their curries with the restaurant’s second location.
Called Sticky Rice Chiang Mai, the new venture will be located at 1746 N. Western Ave. Owners hope for an opening in early July, Grub Street Chicago reports.

Stick Rice is one of the first Thai restaurants in the city to specialize in cuisine from the northern part of the country, known as Isaan food. Chiang Mai, the second locations namesake, is a city in the north.
The food has gotten rave reviews for its unique cuisine and more than 100-ingredient menu.

“A wonder cabinet of Thai food, Sticky Rice, run by a charming and very patient staff, is endlessly interesting and cheap enough to serve as your substitute kitchen,” writes Chicago Reader’s Nicholas Day.
And if foodies prefer more fuel than rice, one food reviewer recommends the fried insects—toasty and crunchy.
