The Congress Theater and Others Named As Area Haunted Spots

Visitors to these places may feel a tingle or hear a strange noise.

Four locations in the area were named haunted spots, according to the Wicker Park Bucktown Insider’s Guide.

Bucktown Pub’s haunted activity started when its owner shot himself at the bar in the 1970s. He wasn’t known as the nicest bar tender, and has been known to slam beer signs from the wall.

The Congress Theater at 2135 N. Milwaukee has been featured on “Ghost Hunters” for its paranormal activity. Ghostly footsteps, apparitions and mysterious shouts are reported as the normal at the theater.
