Valentine's Day: Bucktown's Grass Fed Boasts Candlelight, Fixed Menu
Looking for a delicious way to spend Valentine's Day in Bucktown? Check out the prix fixe menu being offered through Saturday at Grass Fed.
Whether you embrace the often criticized "Hallmark" holiday or not, Valentine's Day—perhaps you prefer "Singles Awareness Day"—is almost here.
Sometimes roses and candy just don't cut it. Among local specials is candlelight dinner featuring a $45-per-person prix fixe menu at Grass Fed, a Bucktown restaurant that opened its doors in the summer of 2012 at 1721 N. Damen Ave. The currently featured menu will be available through Saturday, Feb. 16, according to restaurant representatives.
" ... Grass Fed is redefining the American steakhouse," a spokesman said, in a news release. "The Bucktown restaurant features a chic farmhouse setting and unique twists on the familiar."

Grass Fed's focus is on simplicity. Its specialty is an always-offered fixed price menu that includes a sirloin steak, house salad and hand-cut fries. A chicken and seafood alternative, as well as several vegetarian sides and starters, rounds out the selection.
"Grass Fed does its best to make all products in-house where possible, from condiments and sauces to desserts and house infused cocktails," the spokesman said. "(We) also features fresh coffee throughout the day, roasted locally by Passion House Coffee Roasters, a weekday lunch menu with fresh sandwiches and salads, and weekend brunch with contemporary American comfort food."
