Zoo BeerFest Boasts Bears and Brews

An upcoming Lincoln Park Zoo event will give attendees exclusive access to the zoo as well as their pick of more than 60 craft beers and several food trucks.

A springtime soiree at the Lincoln Park Zoo will bring lions, tigers and … beers?

That's right. LivingSocial's BeerFest rolls into the zoo June 15—one week shy of the official first day of the summer—with more than 60 craft beers accompanied by live music, DJs, lawn games, beer tips from master brewers and some of the best food trucks around.

Featured breweries include 5 Rabbit, Abita, Finch's, Bells, New Belgium and Lake Effect Brewing, to name a few. Food trucks will include Forever Yogurt, Taquero Fusion and The Slide Ride, along with many others.

"With an amazing selection of brews to indulge in, and loads of unique entertainment, this is sure to be one of the season's best events," the invite says.

Each ticket earns attendees unlimited 3-ounce pours of the craft beers, live music, exclusive access to the zoo and entry to the animal houses, backyard lawn games, a BeerFest souvenir stein and a lanyard.

General admission will cost you $39 a piece. For $59, you'll get a VIP ticket that will earn you access to a private balcony overlooking the main concert stage.

BeerFest is scheduled for Saturday, June 15, from 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. at the zoo, 2400 N. Cannon Drive. Tickets are available online.
