Zoo Grounds Channel Ancient Rome for Upcoming Zoo-ologie Fundraiser

This weekend, the Lincoln Park Zoo will transform into a local ancient Rome, which will set the stage for an annual "must-attend" upscale fundraiser.

The nearby Lincoln Park Zoo grounds will soon transform into a Chicago rendition of ancient Rome, with a lavish archway of greenery and white flowers leading visitors through a luxurious tent that will stretch across the Main Mall.

This Saturday, May 18, marks the Auxiliary Board of the Lincoln Park Zoo's signature fundraiser, Zoo-ologie 2013: Sumus Animalia. The upscale event boasts libations, dancing and the Kovler Lion House filled with gourmet food stations.

Initially a 650-person party, more than 1,000 guests are expected to attend this year's event, according to the zoo's board members.
