12 Adlai Stevenson High School Students Receive Scholarships

A total of 12 Adlai E. Stevenson High School students received corporate-sponsored scholarships.

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL — A dozen Adlai E. Stevenson High School seniors were among roughly 1,000 corporate-sponsored scholarship winners announced Wednesday in the 65th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These special awards are financed by around 160 corporations, company foundations and other business organizations. Recipients can use these awards for any regionally accredited U.S. college or university, according to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Some scholarships are renewable for up to four years of college undergraduate study and have annual stipends between $1,000 and $10,000. Some scholarships offer a single payment between $2,500 and $5,000.

The Stevenson High School students who received scholarships included Hannah Bae, Joshua J. Tsai, Anand Vadlamani, Anna T. Wang, Richard G. Yin, Joie Y. You, Richard Liu, Kaitlyn Lu, Cheryl Chen, Allen Q. Ding, Amanda N. Lee and Emily S. Lu.

Jim Conrey, public information coordinator for Adlai Stevenson High School, said this is a great honor and a memory for students to treasure since so many spring activities have been cancelled or postponed due to the coronavirus.

"Any time our students are able to be recognized at this elite level really warms our heart, especially in this difficult year," Conrey said.
