2 Teens Shot At Apartment Complex In Wheeling: Police

WHEELING, IL — Two teen brothers were shot early Saturday at a Wheeling apartment complex, according to police.

Officers responded to a report of gunfire in the Arbor Court apartments and found the siblings in a vestibule at the complex, police said.

One of the victims was shot in the lower right leg and the other was grazed on the chest, according to police, who said both are expected to heal from their injuries.

Officers took two people into custody using information from the victims and recovered a handgun and a small amount of a suspected controlled substance, police said.

“At this time the Wheeling Police Department does not believe there is a threat to the greater community,” according to an email from police. “We do expect additional information will be available on Monday.”
