Boy, 5, Dies In Drowning At Residential Pool In Buffalo Grove: Officials

The boy, who is from Plainfield, was found unresponsive in the pool in the 100 block of Copperwood Drive on Friday evening.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A 5-year-old boy has died in a drowning at a private residential pool in Buffalo Grove, authorities said.

The boy, who is from Plainfield, was found unresponsive in the pool in the 100 block of Copperwood Drive at about 6:30 p.m. Friday, according to a news release from the Buffalo Grove Fire Department.

When paramedics arrived, the boy was out of the water, and bystanders were performing CPR on him. Paramedics took over life-saving efforts, and the boy was taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights where he was later pronounced dead.
