It marks the seventh overall sports state title in Buffalo Grove High School history.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — For the fourth time in its history, the Buffalo Grove High School co-ed cheer team is the best in the state. Last weekend at the Illinois High School Association state championship in Bloomington, the team won its first title since 2016.

The Bison were also state champions in 2013 and 2015, while runners-up in 2012 and 2017. Buffalo Grove is coached by Jeff Siegal.

"The Buffalo Grove High School cheer team showed tremendous effort and hard work this season, and they earned every bit of their state title," State Rep. Mary Beth Canty (D-Arlington Heights) said. "I am so proud of these outstanding young people and the dedicated coaching staff that helped propel them to greatness. You are an asset to our community and I look forward to seeing what you achieve next."
