Buffalo Grove Recognized With 'Best In Governance' Award

The Village is being lauded for improving resident ratings for transparency, honesty, fairness, and confidence in leadership.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Following its participation in a national community survey earlier this year, the Village of Buffalo Grove is being recognized for improved governance. Polco, an online community engagement polling platform, awarded Buffalo Grove with its "Voice of the People: Transformation" award for the greatest improvement in resident ratings of transparency, honesty, fairness, and confidence in leadership.

Buffalo Grove is one of just five communities nationwide to earn the award as part of Polco's 2025 Best In Governance awards. According to the Village, the award took into account resident ratings from the 2025 National Community Survey results. The survey was sent out to residents in April.

Officials said that since the last survey was conducted four years ago, major improvements have been seen in areas like overall direction of the Village; welcoming resident involvement; confidence in Village government; and economic health.
