Buffalo Grove's Clove Celebrates Milestone With Chick-fil-A Opening
The popular fast-food chain became the first retailer to open within the mixed-used development space that continues to progress.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Buffalo Grove officials celebrated a major development milestone last week as Chick-fil-A became the first business to open its doors within The Clove mixed-use development space.
The popular fast-food chain opened its doors at the corner of Old Checker Road and Route 83 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in which local officials celebrated the inaugural retailer that will call The Clove Home.
“We are excited for Chick-fil-A to not only serve the community its food but also to find opportunities to partner with and support the BG community,” Village President Eric Smith said in a news release.

The restaurant will be approximately 5,200 square feet, village officials previously announced. The Chick-fil-A location will include a double-drive-through lane as well as an outdoor patio.
Village officials said last week that work is progressing on other areas of The Clove, including a Guzman y Gomez restaurant, the grocer building, and a seven-story mixed-use commercial and residential building.

Phase One of The Clove project looks to redevelop the southern and central sections of the site and includes:
- A new 43,000 square foot nationally renowned grocery store with an innovative format to meet the demands of today’s consumers.
- A 7-story, 275- to 300-unit high-end apartment building with 16,000 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor. Distinctive from traditional multi-family complexes, the proposed “next generation” apartment building represents the latest in the luxury rental market, where the focus is creating an amenity-rich, convenience-filled environment.
- 65,000 square feet of retail and restaurants scattered throughout the site.
