The Clove Developer Purchases Vacant Restaurant Lots In Buffalo Grove
The properties will be redeveloped in a manner consistent with the rest of the mixed-use development, according to the Village.
BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A little over two years after breaking ground on the project, the construction of The Clove continues to take shape. Officials announced this week that the developer, Kensington Development Partners, has purchased the vacant Boston Market and Burger King outlot properties adjacent to the rest of The Clove development.
According to the Village, these properties, previously under separate ownership, now can be redeveloped in a manner consistent with the rest of the mixed-use development.
"They will be looking to revitalize these properties and integrate them into The Clove property itself with some new commercial," Nicole Woods, director of community development for the Village of Buffalo Grove, said on Buffalo Grove TV (BGTV). "It will help complement the area, create some more energy for The Clove itself."

Construction on the $150 million mixed-use development, built on the site of the former Town Center, got underway in October 2022. The redevelopment of the 22-acre property will include 78,000 square feet of retail space over multiple buildings. The Clove will also have 295 luxury apartments, a park, as well as the remodeling of a 35,000-square-foot shopping center north of Old Checker Road.

Officials said the first apartments at The 250 Residences, a seven-story residential building at The Clove, should be available by the end of January. Work continues on a sit-down restaurant space at the property.
"They're completing the first through third floors, and the lower units for commercial spaces," Kris Larsen, building services manager for the Village, said.
Officials also noted that outside of The Clove, across the street at the intersection of Lake Cook and McHenry roads, both Lazy Dog Restaurant and Wild Fork Foods are "progressing on their interior buildouts with plans to open this spring."
