District 103 Student Places 2nd in National Geographic Bee
Lincolnshire student Conrad Oberhaus knows his geography!
Can you name the peak that is farthest from the Earth's center, due to a bulge in the equator in Ecuador?
Conrad Oberhaus can, and his correct response won him $15,000 Wednesday, when he placed second in the National Geographic Bee in Washington, D.C.
A seventh-grader at Daniel Wright Junior High, Oberhaus came in a single point behind Sathwik Karnik, a 12-year-old from Massachusetts. The 25th annual bee was hosted by Alex Trebek.
