IHSA Football Playoff Brackets: Find Out Who Buffalo Grove Is Facing

The Illinois High School Association playoffs kick off Friday throughout the state.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The playoffs are here. On Monday, the Illinois High School Association released the dates and game times for the first round in all eight classes, following the conclusion of the nine-game regular season.

The postseason culminates with state championship games scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 24-25 at Illinois State University.

Locally, Buffalo Grove has qualified for the postseason with a 6-3 regular season record. For the Bison, the playoffs kick off at 11th-seeded Prospect (7-2) in Class 7A. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday in Mount Prospect.

Buffalo Grove, the No. 22 seed in the 32-team bracket, finished third in the Mid-Suburban East this fall behind John Hersey and Prospect. The Jeffrey Vlk-led squad has outscored their opponents, 300-228, this season.

Buffalo Grove will be looking to rebound from a first round exit in last season's playoffs versus Mount Carmel (Chicago).
