Woman Suffers Serious Burns at Buffalo Grove Gas Station

She was rushed to Northwest Community Hospital Friday evening.

A woman suffered burns to the face and body at a Buffalo Grove gas station Friday evening.

Police and firefighters responded to a call at about 4:15 p.m. of a person on fire at the Circle K Shell station, 50 West Lake Cook Road. The caller said the person was on fire near the “gas tank.”

When police arrived, the fire had been extinguished and the woman was on the ground. She sustained burns to her face, body and windpipe. She was rushed to Northwest Community Hospital.

She was described as a woman in her 40s.

The fire was under control within minutes and the cause is under investigation.
